The Institute of Pharmaceutics of Zhejiang University was established by the support of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Zhejiang University. At present, it has developed into a research and development center on new drug preparations and new drug technologies, integrating drug preparation, biological agent and preparation engineering, and is responsible for the training of senior professional personnel of drug preparation. It was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in 1991 to establish the master program and approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in 2004 to establish the doctoral program. There are 28 research personnel, including 8 professors and researchers, 2 associate professors, 2 lecturers and 6 post-doctoral students, in the Institute. The main research personnel all have doctoral degree and overseas study experience. 2 members of the Institute act as expert reviewers of the National Drug Review Committee; 2 members act respectively as vice chairman and member of the Pharmaceutical Preparation Specialized Committee, Chinese Pharmaceutical Association; 2 members were selected in the Young Overseas High-level Talents Introduction Plan; 2 members were listed in Most Cited Chinese Researchers by ELSEVIER for three consecutive years (2014-2016).


The Institute attaches great importance to the construction of the platform for basic research and industrial development. It has established the National Joint Engineering Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Preparation Technologies and the Drug Preparation Research Platform, Key Laboratory for Special Injury Prevention and Control of Whole Army. In recent years, great achievements have been made in basic scientific research, innovative technology research, industrial development and technical services. The Institute has undertaken a total of more than 40 national level projects, including the National 973 Project, the National 863 Project, the Key Special Youth Project, National Key Research and Development Plan, the Key International Cooperation Project, National Natural Science Fund; and has obtained 15 national new drug certificates. It has more than 100 inventions authorized at home and abroad; more than 300 papers published in SCI, with average influence factor of over 5; 6 monographs on science and technology published at home and abroad; 25 books issued under its general or partial editorship; more than ten scientific and technological awards at the national and the provincial and ministerial levels.
