Dr. FAN currently is professor and vice dean (Acting Dean) of College of Pharmaceutical Sciences Zhejiang University, China. He also holds an appointment of visiting professor of US FDA. Dr. FAN received his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences at Zhejiang University, China, in 2005. He did postdoctoral studies at the US FDA’s National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR/FDA) from 2005 to 2008, where his research focused on systems biology approaches to advancing regulatory science, especially in developing predictive models using genomics data. Thereafter, he was appointed as a faculty member by the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Zhejiang University. Research in his group includes both computational and experimental approaches to advancingregulatory science of Chinese Medicine, emphasizing a 'systems-level' perspective. Some areas of special interest include 1) TCM network pharmacology, 2) Spatiotemporal transcriptome using in situscRNA-seq.

Dr. FAN is reviewer and member of the editorial board for various scientific journals, and has published over 70 original papers and 3 book chapters.
