Dr. GAO was named is vice dean of College of Pharmaceutical Sciences Zhejiang University in 2016 and he is also deputy director of National and Local Joint Pharmaceutical Preparation Technology Laboratory. His research were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Joint grant supported by both JSPS, Japan and NSFC, China, and by the Foundation of Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Personality, and so on. Published more than 200 papers and reviewsin peer review journals.Authorized 20 national patents. Honored more than 7 awards including the “Chinese Embassy Award for the Best Research Paper in Japan 2003”, “JSPS Invitation Fellowship for Research in Japan 2007”, “High-Level Innovative Health Talents in Zhejiang”, “Distinguished Young Scholar Foundation of Zhejiang, China” , “the first level staff of ‘New Century 151 Talent Project’ in Zhejiang Province”, and “Chinese Most Cited  Researchers（Elsevier）”. The Associate Editor of Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences”. The Editor Board of “Journal of Cancer Therapy”, “International Journal of Tissue Regeneration” and “Chinese Journal of Modern Applied Pharmacy”,“Journal of Zhejiang University (Medical Sciences)”and“Chinese Journal of Pharmaceutics (Online Edition)”. The invited reviewer ofJ Control Rel, Mol Pharm, Pharm Res., Adv Drug Deliv Rev., Nanomedicine, Biomaterials, Int J Pharm, Cytokineand so on. Special Appointed Professor of Osaka University in Japan.

Dr. GAO's major research is focused on pharmaceuticas, tissue, regeneration, stem cells.
