On May 9, the 10th and 11th phases of the Minglong Huang & Mingju Huang Seminar Series of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Zhejiang University were held in the lecture hall of the college. Invited guests, Prof. Jonathan Sessler of the University of Texas at Austin and Prof. Ehud Gazit of Tel Aviv University in Israel brought a splendid academic feast to teachers and students. Xiangnan Zhang, vice dean of the CPS-ZJU, attended the rostrum and delivered a speech. Sunliang Cui, assistant dean and director of the Institute of Drug Discovery and Design, presided over the report meeting.

Prof. Sessler is one of the top experts and scholars in chemistry and drug discovery. He is an academician of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the European Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In the report entitled Texas-inspired Drug Discovery Efforts, Academician Sessler led to the story of his own cancer and anticancer drug research and development, about the successful development of porphyrin series of metal chelates and their combination with platinum drugs through interdisciplinary cooperation. His report deals with scientific research and industrial development, which gives profound inspiration to teachers and students.

Prof. Gazit is a leading expert in peptide self-assembly and drug discovery. He is an academician of the European Molecular Biology Organization, a member of the Royal Chemical Society of the UK and a foreign academician of the Indian Academy of Sciences. In the report entitled Metabolite and Peptide Supramolecular Systems: State of the Arts and Future Prospects, Academician Gazit described the self-assembly of amino acids and peptides and their applications in neuromedicine, especially their innovative work in the exploration of Alzheimer's disease.

On behalf of the College, vice dean Xiangnan Zhang presented commemorative plaques of Minglong Huang & Mingju Huang Seminar Series to the two speakers. He sincerely thanked the two professors for sharing the research progress with the teachers and students of the college, and sincerely looked forward to further exchanges and cooperation.

At the end of the report, Prof. Sessler and Prof. Gazit exchanged views with teachers and students, and the atmosphere was warm and applause broke out repeatedly.
