On Dec. 5, Dr. Frank Emmrich from Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology, German delivered a lecture named “Innovations in Cell Therapy” in CPS-ZJU.

Dr. CHEN Shuqing from Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis and Drug Metabolism, CPS-ZJU hosted the lecture. Dr. Frank Emmrich mainly introduced his research team’s study in stem cells and immune cell therapy. He also introduced antibody CD4 therapy, where CD4 works by depressing immune rejection in allogeneic organ transplantation. Up to now, the research team has finished the research on animal model and is going to start clinical research in 2019, aiming to help more patients and improve their life quality.

After the lecture, Dr. Frank Emmrich had a discussion with teachers and students of CPS-ZJU. The teachers and students benefit much from the lecture and discussion.
