Report themed "Chinese Herbal Medicine in Europe" sucessfully held

By the invitation of Zhejiang University, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Pharmaceutical Informatics, Professor Bilia Anna Rita from University of Florence, Department of Pharmacy, visited Institute of Pharmaceutical Informatics on the morning of October 19. Both sides discussed in depth on the international exchanges and cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine quality control. Professor Bilia Anna Rita is one of the experts of Chinese medicine group of the European Pharmacopoeia Commission. She has long been devoted in botanical drug quality control studies, and has many experiences and honors in the quality evaluation of botanical drugs using the NMR technology.

On the afternoon of the 19th, Professor Bilia gave a presentation on the development of Chinese herbal medicine in the European market for the entire staff and students. The title of presentation is "Chinese Herbal Medicine in Europe: Regulatory Situation, Problems and Perspectives". The presentations is one of the Century Anniversary Series academic reports. The presentation was presided over by Professor Fan Xiaohui. Yu Yongping, vice president on behalf of the College, presented a souvenir to Professor Bilia Anna Rita to welcome her arrival.

At the meeting, Professor Bilia introduced the registration and relevant laws of Chinese medicine and herbal medicine in Europe. She believes that Chinese herbal medicine is a valuable resource, and plays an important role in improving the quality of people's lives. Chinese herbal medicine research has been widespread concerned. Because of the complexity of its components, in order to protect the safety of the drugs to be effective, the European Pharmacopoeia Commission developed a strict quality control standards. However, the Chinese herbal medicine in Europe as food additive or medical equipment still has a broad market, and has obtain people's trust. After the end of the report, the participating students and teachers discussed lively with Professor Bilia Anna Rita on the research and current situation of Chinese herbal medicines.
