International Conference of“ Frontiers in Pharmaceutical Sciences: Global Perspectives(FPS-GPI) ”was held in the University of Rhode Island in United states from September 27^th to 30^th in 2012. The Vice Director of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences Professor zhong chen was invited to attend the conference and made a  special  report titled “ The protective effect of  histamine and Histamine H3 receptor in Ischemic neuronal damage”. The report lastedfor 60minutesand was appreciated by the expert in the meeting.

The subject of the conference was the frontiers in Pharmaceutical Sciences.Executives from international pharmaceutical companies, the 2009  Nobel Prize winner Professor  Thomas A. Steitz and academician of the American  Academy of Sciences and expertsand scholars from 40 counties all over the world attendedthe conference.The meeting covered a wide field, including the crystal structure of the advanced drug targets, enzyme chemistry, drug design technology, the new progress of the receptor drug research, new technology of nano-medicines, anticancer drugs and latest research progress of  nervous drugs.

After the meeting, Professor Chen Zhong and Dean of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Rhode Island launched a full discussionon how to promote cooperation of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciencesof two university  in the research and teachingand other  questions of common interest. They reached anumber of consensusin the discussion, hoping that the win-win cooperation agreement will be reached in the near future.
