On August 9, 2012. Professor Guido F. Pauli, Dr. Shaonong Chen, and three other people from College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois at Chicago, visited Institute of Modern Chinese Medicine. After a brief introduction of the history and culture of IMCM, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Zhejiang University by director Yongjiang Wu, they visited labs of plant resources and phytochemistry, TCM analysis and metabolism, TCM pharmaceutical engineering, etc. Academic exchanges and discussions were carried out widely and deeply during the visit. Professor Pauli’s group have a solid background on countercurrent chromatography and quantitative NMR, which will motivate the cooperation in areas of directional separation of natural products and quantitative analysis of complex components in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
