      College of Pharmaceutical Sciences currently has two first-class disciplines, pharmacy and science of Chinese materia medica. They contain seven individual disciplines, namely pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacy, microbiology and bio-pharmacy. They have covered all the second-class disciplines of the prior first-class disciplines. Currently, the college has built a number of key disciplines and laboratories, Pharmaceutical Analysis (training) were honored State Key discipline; Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology were named Zhejiang Provincial key disciplines; Traditional Chinese Medicine chemistry, Traditional Chinese Medicine Analysis, Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmacology were named key disciplines of Zhejiang Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine; Traditional Chinese Medicine discipline is Zhejiang Medical Key support disciplines; Pharmacognosy is a collaborative construction unit of State Traditional Chinese Medicine’s key disciplines. The college has three national III-level Chinese Medicine Research Laboratories (the highest level), the Lab of Computer-aided Analysis of Chinese Medicine, Lab of Chinese Medicine Analysis and Metabolism and Lab of Chinese Medicine Pharmacology and Toxicology. Chinese Medicine Pharmacology and Toxicology, Chinese Medicine Analysis and Chinese Medicine Pharmaceutical Engineering were named Key Laboratory of Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang Province. The college has also established Zhejiang Novel Drug Discovery and Technology Service Platform, natural medicine sub-platform; Drug information and Drug metabolism Technology Innovation Platform is Ministry of Education’s "985" di-construction Ⅱ-class innovation platform.
 
     In 2004, assessment done by the Ministry of Education showed that Pharmaceutical Science and science of Chinese materia medica both ranked fifth of the overall level in the country, in which Pharmaceutical Science ranked fourth in academic team, science of Chinese materia medica ranked third; Pharmaceutical Science ranked fourth in scientific research while science of Chinese materia medica ranked the fifth. In 2009, according to the assessment, Pharmaceutical Science ranked fourth and maintained the national standard.
     College of Pharmaceutical Science has 5 institutions, namely Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical preparations, Drug information science, Modern Chinese medicine, Pharmacology and toxicology and Biochemical Pharmacy, constituted by 17 labs. In recent years, the college undertook more than 30 National major research projects, including the National 973 projects, 863 projects, the "Eleventh Five-Year" National Key Technology Program, the National Science and Technology major projects "Significant Drug Discovery" project, the National Outstanding Youth Fund, major research projects of National Natural Science Foundation. The college has also undertook over 70 National Natural Science Foundation projects, more than 10 of provincial and ministerial key major projects, and more than 20 major transversal developing issues. As the first authors’ corresponding institution, College of Pharmaceutical Science has a total of 514 papers published in SCI , received 80 national invention patents; won the national scientific and technological progress second prize once, over 10 provincial and ministerial level scientific research and technological progress award. The college has received a total research funding of more than 200 million in place, averaging more than 600 thousand per teacher in 2009.
 
 
 
 
      The college has established a regular exchange of visits, academic exchanges and scientific cooperation with pharmaceutical colleges and research institutions in more than 10 countries, including the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.
