The 2009’Yangtze River Delta Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry held at Zhejiang U

      The 2009’Yangtze River Delta Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry Organized by Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association of Professional Committee of Medicinal Chemistry, co-organized by ZJU-ENS Joint Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Zhejiang University was held in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou on 13-14 November 2009. This conference attracted more than 200 delegates from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang and other places more than a dozen representatives of institutions with more than 80 abstracts. Prof. Yongzhou Hu, member of Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Association of Professional Committee of Medicinal Chemistry and Antibiotics，director of Zhejiang University Research Center for Innovative Drug Discovery, held the conference. Also, Dr. Jingkang Shen(vice director and secretary-general of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association of Professional Committee of Medicinal Chemistry), Prof. Weiyong Ma (Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry), Prof. Zongru Guo (Institute of Materia Medica Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College)，and Prof. Qidong You (chairman of Jiangsu Pharmaceutical Association Of Professional Committee of Medicinal Chemistry and Dean of School of Pharmacy China Medical University.) attended the meeting and were seated in front.
This conference was held by Professor Yongzhou Hu, member of Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Association of Professional Committee of Medicinal Chemistry and Antibiotics，director of Zhejiang University Research Center for Innovative Drug Discovery.
Jingkang Shen, vice director and secretary-general of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association of Professional Committee of Medicinal Chemistry, gave an opening speech.

      Prof. Zongru Guo from Institute of Materia Medica Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Prof. Yungen Xu from China Pharmaceutical University, Prof. Yingxia Li from Fudan University, and Dr. Jianhua Qi from College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Zhejiang University respectively druggability ligand efficiency, progress in tumor angiogenesis inhibitors, the research progress of carbon hydride drugs and pathogenic micro-organisms reproductive hormonal chemistry and chemical biology research at the meeting made a specific report.
 

Prof. Zongru Guo from Institute of Materia Medica Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences made a presentation titled “Druggability & Ligand efficiency”.

Prof. Yungen Xu from China Pharmaceutical University made a presentation titled “Progress in tumor angiogenesis inhibitors”.
 
 
Prof. Yingxia Li from Fudan University made a presentation titled “The research progress of carbon hydride drugs”.
Dr. Jianhua Qi from College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Zhejiang University made a presentation titled “pathogenic micro-organisms reproductive hormonal chemistry and chemical biology research”.
 
      More than 70 participants from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang and other places more than a dozen representatives of institutions and focused on domestic and outside research and development of new progress in the field of medicinal chemistry and development trends, the target object based on the new drug research and development, drug design of new theory, new methods of discovery and optimization of lead compounds, drug Synthesis of new methods and new technology to communicate a range of topics.
 
 
      "Yangtze River Delta of Medicinal Chemistry Seminar" initiated and sponsored, since 2004, has been held five times. This symposium is in accordance of the aim of promoting, facilitating and enhancing the level of new drug R&D in Yangtze Delta Region and even in China, as well as providing technological cooperation platform for further strengthening inter-regional academic exchanges, in which extensive and in-depth academic discussion was carried out. And it has received high acclaim from all concerned.
