Pharmacognosy Discipline of Zhejiang University was approved by the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council to enroll postgraduate students and offer master programs in 1985. At present, it is the Province Key Discipline in Chinese Medicine. The research directions of the discipline focus on the utilizatin of plant and marine sources, quality control of herbal drugs and their preparations, discovery of lead compounds and development of new traditional Chinese medicines.
