As one of the earliest pharmaceutical colleges in our country, many academicians of CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences), such as Huang Minglong, Chi Zhiqiang, Jin Guozhang and so on, have been studied and worked in the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Zhejiang University. Many of our schoolfellows have become the leadership and hard core in internal medicine field. Today, relying on the solid teaching and research strength, good academic atmosphere, new and first-class teaching facilities, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences offers the best study environment for each medicinal student. The current President of our college is Professor Li Lianda, who is the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE).
With the features of religious style of teaching, solid foundation, broad knowledge and strong innovation ability, the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is committed to training composite innovative pharmaceutical elite. In 2006, the admission of our college will progress according to the category of pharmacy, so that the professions will not be assigned to undergraduate students in the first year. After the first semester of the second year, according to the students volunteer, achievements and needs of the community, they will be divided into Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics and Chinese Medicine three professions for respective training.Except paying more attention on the theoretical education, the College opened laboratories for students, and established a group of high-level teaching practice bases in many national key pharmaceutical institutes. These enable students to have a good professional training, and lay a solid foundation for their going abroad or continuing to pursue a higher degree.
The College has a high-lever teacher team with academicians of CAE, Cheung Kong Scholars and the laureates of National Outstanding Youth Fund as main backbone. We have 16 professors, 25 associate professors, and have more than 30 well-known domestic and foreign professors as college visiting professor.
