Forum of Drug Metabolism and Pharmaceutical Analysis of CPS-ZJU was Successfully Held

On Nov. 10th, the forum of Drug Metabolism and Pharmaceutical Analysis of College of Pharmaceutical Sciences Zhejiang University (CPS-ZJU) was successfully held in the lecture hall of CPS-ZJU. Nearly a hundred graduates arrived, sitting in the room together with teachers and undergraduates. Prof. YANG Bo, Dean of CPS-ZJU, Prof. HU Fuqiang, Secretary of Party Committee, and Prof. YAO Tongwei, former Laboratory Chief, attended the forum. The forum was hosted by Prof. YU Lushan, Laboratory Chief.

 

At the beginning of the forum, Prof. YANG Bo gave all the alumni a warm welcome, briefly introducing the outstanding achievements of CPS-ZJU during recent years, expressing deep gratitude to Prof. ZENG Su and other teachers in the laboratory of pharmaceutical analysis. In Prof. HU Fuqiang’s speech, he attributed CPS-ZJU’s success to the joint effort of all the teachers and students and the great help from alumni from the globe, and expressed his wish that all the graduates would keep on caring and supporting the development of CPS-ZJU.

 

Drug Metabolism and Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory was established in 1924 by one of the pioneers and explorer of China’s contemporary toxicology analytical chemistry Prof. HUANG Mingju. After generations of work by Prof. YAN Jixiang, LIU Zhiqiang and ZENG Su, it is now a comprehensive laboratory of multiple subjects including pharmaceutical analysis, drug metabolism, biology of molecular and cell, Pharmaceutical (Epigenetic) Genomics et al. Prof ZENG Su briefly introduced the history and the development of the laboratory over the years, gratified by the work and progress made by the students. Prof. YAO Tongwei also gave his congratulations.

 

After that, Prof. Yu Lushan gave a throughout and detailed introduction about the current situation of the laboratory and invited all the alumni to pay frequent visit to CPS-ZJU. Three alumni gave their speeches afterwards, showing their gratitude to CPS-ZJU, teachers and their schoolmates while the oversea students sent their video clips. Many of our alumni are working in pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and universities in China and other countries, all of which have made great contribution to pharmaceutical sciences.

 

With the enthusiastic applause and photos which brought back precious memories, the forum finally drew to an end. We are all very proud and grateful to be students of CPS-ZJU.
