Delegation of CPS-ZJU visited UCLA and Stanford University

From May 7 to May 9, Dr. FAN Xiaohui, vice dean of CPS-ZJU and Dr. DING Ling, deputy director of Department of Pharmacy, visited UCLA and Stanford University with Mr. WU Zhaohui,  president of Zhejiang University (ZJU). During the visit, the delegation met Dr. Cindy Fan, deputy provost of UCLA, Dr. Kelsey Martin,

dean of  Health Department of Medicine, Dr. Ren Sun, assistant deputy provost, Dr. Michael E. Phelps, director of  Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology, Dr. Sam Chow,  deputy director of  Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology, and Dr. Jeff Miller,  director of California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI).

 

From May 7 to May 8, the delegation visited UCLA and had a forum with the representatives of UCLA. On the forum, Dr. FAN Xiaohui introduced the basic information about CPS-ZJU on teaching and research. Later, Dr. DING Ling introduced CPS-ZJU’s Drug Development Platform and its academic achievement.. After that, both sides had a discussion on joint cultivation of undergraduates and scientific research cooperation. A consensus was reached on “3+1+1” joint cultivation program.

 

On May 9, the delegation of CPS-ZJU accompanied Mr. WU Zhaohui to visit Stanford University and attended ZJU-Stanford University Academic Communication Reception. Michael Levitt, one of the noble prize winners, as well as many other Stanford scholars attended the reception. The delegation communicated with alumni and gained a deeper understanding of each other, which laid the foundation of further cooperation.

 

The visit strengthens the friendship among UCLA and other world-famous universities and boosts the cooperation among CPS-ZJU and those universities. Dr.. WU Zhaohui especially mentioned that ZJU attaches great importance to the cooperation between CPS-ZJU and UCLA and will support the cooperating programs with great effort.
