On December 17, 2017, three undergraduates, MA Yizhi, WANG Yingying and XU Lingyu, from College of Pharmaceutical Science Zhejiang University (CPS-ZJU) went for a 6-month graduation practice project in University of South Carolina (USC), United States.

On December 20, the three students arrived in Columbia, completed their registration formalities and settled down. During the first week, the students had a great cultural experience in Columbia and also prepared for their incoming study at the college.

One January 2, 2018, the three students received kindly reception from Dr. Steve Cutler, Dean of College of Pharmacy, USC, and then formally carried out their practice at Dr. Jun Zhu’s and Dr. Sajish Mathew’s laboratories, respectively. With the help of the postdoctoral fellows and graduate students in the labs, the three students gradually became familiar with the laboratory and began to study experiment techniques. The students also joined in laboratory meetings to discuss scientific issues.

With the joint efforts from both two colleges, the practice project is progressing well now. We kindly wish the three students can improve their research abilities and broaden their horizons with this great opportunity.
